A NEVER ENDING JOURNEY...

HURRY BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

Ever since I was a child, texture, color and design were my inspiration.

As an adult this motivation has never ceased.  But my primary motivation to draw is to experience the final second when I can actually declare that the painting is finished.

This factor gives me the desire to never stop creating.  I believe that my art is inspired by the Holy Spirit.  Sometimes the outcome is fun and whimsical, intriguing, but when that perfect inspirational nugget is revealed, I stop and marvel at my Oh Mighty God.

God is a creator, God is humorous, artistic, and God is my everlasting JOY!
This is why I paint.  Art for me is a never ending journey through my brief life on earth.  Art is the essence of pausing on that journey to observe the perfect creation that my Abba Father created.

A LONELY PAINT BRUSH

AS AN ARTIST I STILL QUESTION THE VALIDITY
OF A PAINTING.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL OR GROTESQUE,
BUT MY QUESTION STILL REMAINS...
"DOES ART FEED THE HUNGRY AND THE DESTITUTE"?

IT HAS BEEN SOOOOO DIFFICULT TO RECONCILE THE FACT THAT
I WAS BORN TO PAINT, AND BY DOING THIS
I WOULD MINISTER TO THE PUBLIC.

UNFORTUNATELY ART DOES NOT HELP THE POOR IN NEED,
IT MIGHT MINISTER IN A SPIRITUAL WAY
BUT IN MY LIMITED CAPACITY AS AN ARTIST...
I CAN'T SEE HOW IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

I'M SIMPLY EXPOSING MY DEEPEST FEELINGS BECAUSE MAYBE THERE
IS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT NEEDS TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT
ALONE.

I'M A CHRISTIAN ARTIST WHO IS ATTEMPTING TO WALK THE
NARROW AND LONG PATH TO GOD VIA ART.

IT'S A LONG AND LONELY PATH TO THE FATHER...
BECAUSE IN THE LONG RUN I WILL BE BY MYSELF
WHEN I TAKE THAT FINAL STEP OFF THE PATH OF LIFE.
AND
I MEET THE CREATOR.
HE WILL REQUEST FOR ME TO RECALL WHAT I DID WITH HIS
GIFT OF ART.

THIS WILL BE TOUGH,
BUT I WANT TO ANSWER
AND
SAY
"I TRIED"

SO FOR NOW
I SUPPOSE I'LL CONTINUE TO BE THAT LONELY PAINT BRUSH
THAT WILL CONTINUE TO PAINT ONLY
WHAT MY
ABBA FATHER WANTS ME TO PAINT.

MAY THE JOURNEY UNFOLD.

This painting clearly expresses its story
I'm sorry Jesus
because you had to die so horribly for my sins

IT'S HERE!

ATTACHED
(price to be determined once I include this in my new up and coming ETSY store)

That's right! I finally brought home my baby today. Yes, I'm excited because I now officially have a decent photographer....yaaaaa!
ATTACHED has now officially come into existence. Trust me, as an artist we get excited about certain paintings. This is one. It's a larger one and that is exciting because lately I have been painting in very small formats. This is a good thing...

ATTACHED is a very special painting because it depicts my soulish self attached to my face. What do I mean by the soul? We are made up of a soul (all of our mundane passions and desires), and a Spirit. No, it is not the Holy Spirit.

So we walk through our lives with these two things that are literally in us and that when we die will go to heaven or hell. That's it. Our bodies decay, but our soul and spirit do not die!

Now what we do with the soul and spirit within us depends on how we lead our lives. If we only cater to mundane carnal issues, and we don't feed our spiritual side, our soul will be one big, fat rolly polly and sassy entity. If we are born again (we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts), and we begin to live a more Godly life, our Spirit will begin to get larger, larger, larger, and larger until our Soul becomes this itsy, bitsy little entity.

So for now this painting depicts our soul, which is attached to the front of this human's forehead.

I find as a human being with lots of defects I am constantly in a struggle to make my beautiful Spirit larger, and to placate the soul. It is a never ending struggle.

I hope you have enjoyed this peek into my heart.

I wish you all the best.

My first post on my blog

SPIRITUAL MAN GONE AMOK

Thought I would introduce myself on my new blog. I'm going to attempt to paint a painting everyday or every other day. This is going to be huge because I'm not a fast painter, so it should present an artistic challenge.
The painting seen above is not a painting a day, but I thought it would be good to download some of my artwork in the meantime.
